Project Manager

Our client, a market leading energy company has an immediate need for an Engineering Project Manager for a twelve (12) month contract opportunity based in their Edmonton office.

Are you a project manager with experience in inline inspection and corrosion protection? As the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the pipeline system through the execution of cleaning, corrosion inhibitor injection and inline inspection programs. You will apply project management principles to ensure programs are safely, optimally and efficiently planned, executed and monitored.
 

What You Will Do:
• Execute Pipeline Integrity's Monitoring Program (inline inspections, cleaning pigs, inhibition injection and ECP program) and be accountable for its scope, schedule and budget.
• Ensure effective and regular communication with partner groups including: Regional Operations, Control Centre Operations, Project Groups, Pipeline Integrity Scoping, and Inline Inspection and other Third-Party Vendors when planning and executing programs.
• Manage and coordinate inline inspection contracts and lead vendor execution and associated relations.

Who You Are:
• Bachelor’s degree or Technical diploma in Engineering from a recognized university or college.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or Engineering Technologist with ASET.
• 7 or more years of related experience, integrity inspection experience is preferred.
• The ability to prioritize multiple projects to meet task, deliverable, and deadline requirements while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Effective and professional interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with peers, management, internal/external partners, vendors and service providers.
• Proactive teammate who learns from experience, and quickly adapts to new situations.
• Proven track record to initiate and handle change, be innovative, tackle problems, think strategically, and prioritize key tasks.

Working Conditions
• This role is primarily based in an office environment with regular travel to other offices and field locations during launch and/or receipt of inspection tools, occasionally requiring work outside of normal-business hours.
• Occasional travel is also required to suppliers’/vendors’ sites. Typical travel involves one to two trips per month, up to a week in duration each.
• 24 hour availability is required when inspection tools are active.
• Work outside regular business hours may be required to supervise and keep upcoming inline inspection projects on track.
• A valid passport and ability to work and travel within Canada and the United States.

Accounting Analyst

Our Calgary based Energy client has an immediate need for an Accounting Analyst to join their team for a six (6) month contract opportunity.  This contract position is scheduled to start immediately.

The Accounting Analyst supports the financial reporting and analysis processes. This role must deliver efficient, timely and accurate financial reporting in a harmonized manner, while ensuring that a robust internal control environment is maintained in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.

Key Responsibilities

·       Analyze and prepare complex financial statements and reports

·       Perform monthly and quarterly close processes and post-close reporting; perform variance analytics and forecasting/planning activities.

·       Balance Sheet Integrity (BSI), and other related activities.

·       Interface and maintain connectivity with the businesses that are supported by financial processes delivered within the team.

·       Contribute to the delivery of financial processes in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.

o   Work with the various audit, tax and legal teams to provide key data.

o   Interact with the business to provide appropriate financial data and support on ad hoc projects.

o   Identify and implement continuous process improvements.

o   Share best practices within the team and with customers.

Criteria & Qualifications.

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business related area.

·       Relevant Accounting experience in related area(s).

o   Strong financial system skills with SAP, BW a plus and Microsoft applications especially Access and strong Excel skills.

o   Strong understanding of how financial reporting and accounting processes function including system controls, financial controls and risk assessment

o   Strong analytical skills in financial reporting and accounting with a solid understanding of control processes.

o   Highly motivated self-starter with the ability and willingness to take initiative: proactively promote, implement and uphold the principles, aspirations and strategies of the department/business unit/company.

o   Ability to identify process gaps and implement process improvements.

o   Strong communication, interpersonal and networking skills; ability to interpret and clearly communicate information, best practices and lessons learned with internal and external parties; able to make strong impact and significant contributions to the business while giving sound advice.

o   Good business judgment in handling potentially sensitive business and people issues.

o   Flexibility and adaptability in handling change; ability to manage multiple competing or conflicting priorities with a strong track record of delivery.

o   Commitment to workplace safety.

o   Requires 4-7 years relevant work experience.

o   CPA or MBA is a plus
