Our client, a market leading energy company has an immediate need for an Engineering Project Manager for a twelve (12) month contract opportunity based in their Edmonton office.

Are you a project manager with experience in inline inspection and corrosion protection? As the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the pipeline system through the execution of cleaning, corrosion inhibitor injection and inline inspection programs. You will apply project management principles to ensure programs are safely, optimally and efficiently planned, executed and monitored.

What You Will Do:
• Execute Pipeline Integrity's Monitoring Program (inline inspections, cleaning pigs, inhibition injection and ECP program) and be accountable for its scope, schedule and budget.
• Ensure effective and regular communication with partner groups including: Regional Operations, Control Centre Operations, Project Groups, Pipeline Integrity Scoping, and Inline Inspection and other Third-Party Vendors when planning and executing programs.
• Manage and coordinate inline inspection contracts and lead vendor execution and associated relations.

Who You Are:
• Bachelor’s degree or Technical diploma in Engineering from a recognized university or college.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or Engineering Technologist with ASET.
• 7 or more years of related experience, integrity inspection experience is preferred.
• The ability to prioritize multiple projects to meet task, deliverable, and deadline requirements while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Effective and professional interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with peers, management, internal/external partners, vendors and service providers.
• Proactive teammate who learns from experience, and quickly adapts to new situations.
• Proven track record to initiate and handle change, be innovative, tackle problems, think strategically, and prioritize key tasks.

Working Conditions
• This role is primarily based in an office environment with regular travel to other offices and field locations during launch and/or receipt of inspection tools, occasionally requiring work outside of normal-business hours.
• Occasional travel is also required to suppliers’/vendors’ sites. Typical travel involves one to two trips per month, up to a week in duration each.
• 24 hour availability is required when inspection tools are active.
• Work outside regular business hours may be required to supervise and keep upcoming inline inspection projects on track.
• A valid passport and ability to work and travel within Canada and the United States.

_Technician: Manufacturing – III (Day)

We are seeking a Manufacturing Lab Technician who will be responsible for analyzing and solving yield and reliability issues in support of a high-volume manufacturing facility and improving overall quality/efficiency/safety.  This is a 5+ month contract assignment that has the potential to go fulltime assignment in Chandler, AZ.

  • Performing wafer/unit-level Failure Analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Must be willing to work a day shift compressed work week schedule. Shift is twelve hours long and rotate from three to four days a week.

  • Experience with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

Project Planner

The Project Planner will take a lead role in providing Project Management support at the project, program, division or corporate level and will be responsible for ensuring that their assigned projects/programs adhere to approved processes, tools and procedures.

Area where support will be provided include:

Estimating Services: In the estimating services role the individual will be providing support to the Projects Division and others in the preparation and qualification of Estimates, Risk Logs and Sanction Support Packages for various Investment Opportunities on behalf of Bruce Power. Preparation of these documents requires working with internal staff at all levels of the corporation and various external bodies such as contractors, supplier's etc, to arrive at the most advantageous approach.

Project Management Services: In the Project Management services role the individual will support the Project Manager in the successful implementation of projects, taking primary responsibility for all aspects of project management support. This will include the facilitation, development and maintenance of a project plan of appropriate design and detail to suit the individual projects needs and the needs of the Corporation.

At the Division/Corporate level the individual will develop, maintain, monitor and report on operational business plans, work program plans, resource/staffing plans and associated business improvement plans. Mask Design Engineer

The Ian Martin Group is seeking a Mask Design Engineer.  Our client is a leading global manufacturer of electronic semiconductor products that meet a variety of needs within the Commercial, Home, Intelligence, and Advanced Technology computing industries.  The Designer is responsible for creating templates or stencils for microchip processors and other electronic components.


Duties include:

  • Variety of Technical and non-repetitive tasks associated with all phases of chip Iayout development, up to and including Unit and Chip-Level Iayout mask design
  • Most work is performed in a clean room, wearing protective clothing

Project Engineer

Role: Jr. to Intermediate level Project Engineer

Commissioning Start-up Lead

Voisey’s Bay Mine Expansion CSU Team 

We are seeking highly qualified and experienced personnel to work as part of the Voisey’s Bay Mine Expansion Commissioning and Start-up (VBME CSU) team. Commissioning and Start-up work will be in a range of systems including:  underground material handling and dewatering systems; paste plant systems; 12MVA Powerhouse systems; fresh air raise and return air raise systems and other ancillary facilities. Knowing what to do, and equally important, not what to do, is critical when confronted with daily unplanned events or circumstances during field execution of Commissioning and Start-up. Inherently by its nature and type of work, including first energization of equipment, construction in a brown field environment is a higher risk activity, and there is no room for improvisation. 

The VBME CSU is responsible for: construction turnover process; pre-commissioning (S2) tasks required to verify equipment / component integrity; and, cold commissioning (S3) tasks required to verify logic and controls will function as designed and Start-up (S4) tasks functions using process materials. The Commissioning and Start-up groups will primarily consist of Commissioning and Start-up Leads, Commissioning and Start-up Technicians and Commissioning and Start-up Engineers and other Technical Support. 

The position of VBME Start-up Lead is part of the Commissioning & Start-up group responsible for supporting Commissioning, development of start-up plans, pre-start-up check lists, post start check list, SOPs, and start-up training documentation. The position will be a direct report to the VBME CSU Manager.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for Day to day duties and deliverables as follows:  

• Responsible for implementation on a day to day basis of a strong health and safety culture in line with Vale’s Safety and Health and Environment management system.

• Review and provide input and support to the overall Commissioning and Start-up effort.

• Develop Start-up plans including a Process Overview, a Start-Up Scope, a Start-up Philosophy, and a Start-up Outline.

• Facilitate Pre-Start-up Safety Review process for the system(s). 

• Complete PSSR Start-up activities.

• Develop of SOPs, Standard Jobs & Training documentation 

• Start-up Execution Plan including: Participating in Interface Agreement meetings; developing Pre-Start-up Check Sheets; Start-up Check Sheets and Post Start-up Check Sheets.

• Work collaborate with vendors and other equipment specific SEMs. 

• Manage modifications (including using Stature- Management of Change program)  and review MoC logs to verify field changes made are accurate and approved.

• Develop Provide technical support to the commissioning group so they can execute day to day Commissioning activities. 

• Provide technical support to the Start-up team, as well as manage troubleshoot request from the team. Solve problems as they occur daily. 

• Provide technical leadership and expertise to the Project team. 

• Review turn over documents. 

• Field Level Testing/Validating/Adjusting equipment (Mechanical & Instrumentation); 

• Coordination with DCS and PLC programmers for logic/interlocks testing & adjustments;  

• Provide Support to Operations during Start Up. 

• Develop vendor scopes of work to assist with onsite Start-up of the vendors equipment.

• Communicate and work collaboratively with various project disciplines – including other commissioning groups, operating support groups,  project engineering, QA and construction disciplines.


Essential Skills / Qualifications & Assets:

• Mechanical, Electrical or Process University degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training and field experience. 

• 5 years of experience working on large industrial projects. 

• Previous experience on leading Commissioning efforts is seen as an asset.

• Previous experience in Commissioning and/or Start-up of  underground material handling and dewatering systems; paste plant systems; 12MVA Powerhouse systems; fresh air raise and return air raise systems is seen as an asset

• Demonstrated proficiency in the understanding of isometrics and PID drawings. 

• Comfortable working in a team-based environment while possessing the ability to manage and prioritize day to day duties and deliverables.

Work Site and Schedule

• Position is based in Voisey’s Bay, the shift schedule is 2 weeks in 2weeks out, working 12hr days, for the 14days on site. The rotation / shift / schedule may change to meet the needs of the project execution effort. You may be expected to work from the St. John’s office from time to time.

• The place of work will be Voisey’s Bay Site in Labradour, as a fly in / fly out operation, all employees will be flown to/from designated pick up / drop off points in Newfoundland and Labrador on VNL’s chartered service to site at no cost to them.

  • Familiarity with OPG's Engineering/Procurement/Construction contract model is an asset.

  • Requires experience in planning and development aspects of electrical power plants to become familiar with generating station design and associated components.
  • Requires experience in a generalized but related industry to appreciate manufacturing and supply techniques. Requires experience to solve problems, provide guidance and initiate studies, designs and economic forecasts.

Production Supervisor


Our Toronto plastics manufacturing facility is seeking a production supervisor to join their team. This position has 12 hour shifts rotating every two weeks between day and night shift. The company employs about 120 individuals and offers a comprehensive benefit package.


  • Day to day general administration of the operations. (includes personnel, production rates, job changes, reliability)
  • Input to plant manager on supply and production optimization, control and use of raw material and inventory management
  • Recommendations to plant manager, work methods and procedures for section: technical assistance to lead hand in correct application of methods/procedures and efficient use of equipment
  • Responsible for the safe, continuous and efficient operation of production unit.
  • On-going coordination as necessary with other sectors in the department
  • Daily coordination, prioritization and monitoring of maintenance repairs, and authorization of work orders.
