We are looking for a Construction Manager on behalf of one Pennsylvania’s largest utilities companies. They will support and manage all aspects of project life cycle; including planning, bidding, awarding and oversight of construction projects

 

Duties Include:

• Oversee the planning, design and engineering, construction and closeout of various types of capital and O&M projects. Projects entail an array of facility and infrastructure categories including offices, service centers, data centers, warehouses, emergency operating facilities, and transmission dispatch and regional dispatch facilities

• Facilitate and manage capex project activities on behalf of operating companies and other business units

• Develop project documentation and perform reviews for clarity and completeness – examples include programming and scoping documents, performance specifications, project plans, contracts, equipment and constructions bid packages, requisitions, bills of material or material requests for issue, task authorizations, and engineering work requests

• Perform detailed facility assessment analysis and input into the organization’s facility database for future project planning

• Develop detailed engineering job packages for modifications or additions to electrical, mechanical, HVAC, building envelope and site work

• Engage and coordinate all project stakeholders including consultants, contractors and internal resources. Examples are, but not limited to, architects, engineers, general contractors, and internal IT and security resources. This also includes monitoring and/or reporting contractor resource levels

• Take responsibility for the quality assurance and control of assigned projects, including identification of quality requirements, responsibility for agreed upon quality assurance program and if required, oversee the review and approval process for contractor provided procedures

• Identify all project requirements, develop performance specifications, establish and manage construction budgets and schedules

• Develop and maintain corporate design standards

• Prepare and present project status reports for management. Reports entail recurring, standard reports and ad hoc reports that address status of scope, budget and schedule that identify risks and issues, and outlines mitigation strategies

• Communicate project goals, priorities and decisions to the Leadership Team

• Partner with operating companies and other business units from project conception and planning through construction and turnover. This includes obtaining concurrence (or buy-in) from affected departments to support the proposed schedule, resource requirements, and review and approval of project plans

• Ensure project close-out and lessons-learned reviews are completed. Participate in audit of completed projects to evaluate whether identified objectives and benefits have been realized

  

Skills Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Business or a closely related degree such as a minor in Construction Management
  • 4+ years’ experience in project organization with a background in engineering, construction or project controls
  • Strong project management skills are required with a demonstrated ability to develop, manage and control multiple tasks
  • Experience in architecture, mechanical, electrical, or structural design of industrial facilities is required
  • Must have experience reading, interpreting and understanding facilities architectural and engineering drawings
  • Experience with Project Management tools such as Primavera, MS Project with related Scheduling/Resource Planning experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player and possess a willingness to work in a team environment with an ability to work cross functionally

The Project Engineer position is located in the Westborough R&D Life Cycle Engineering group within the Biotechnology business area in Life Sciences. Are you a project manager with experience in inline inspection and corrosion protection? As the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the pipeline system through the execution of cleaning, corrosion inhibitor injection and inline inspection programs. You will apply project management principles to ensure programs are safely, optimally and efficiently planned, executed and monitored.
 

What You Will Do:
• Execute Pipeline Integrity's Monitoring Program (inline inspections, cleaning pigs, inhibition injection and ECP program) and be accountable for its scope, schedule and budget.
• Ensure effective and regular communication with partner groups including: Regional Operations, Control Centre Operations, Project Groups, Pipeline Integrity Scoping, and Inline Inspection and other Third-Party Vendors when planning and executing programs.

Who You Are:

Working Conditions

• 24 hour availability is required when inspection tools are active.

Production Supervisor

 

Our Toronto plastics manufacturing facility is seeking a production supervisor to join their team. This position has 12 hour shifts rotating every two weeks between day and night shift. The company employs about 120 individuals and offers a comprehensive benefit package.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day general administration of the operations. (includes personnel, production rates, job changes, reliability)
  • Input to plant manager on supply and production optimization, control and use of raw material and inventory management
  • Recommendations to plant manager, work methods and procedures for section: technical assistance to lead hand in correct application of methods/procedures and efficient use of equipment
  • Responsible for the safe, continuous and efficient operation of production unit.
  • On-going coordination as necessary with other sectors in the department
  • Daily coordination, prioritization and monitoring of maintenance repairs, and authorization of work orders.
  • Plan all shutdowns on equipment with Maintenance.
  • Continuous improvement by requesting studies and projects to improve production (i.e. Product quality, production rates, reliability, cost effectiveness). Coordination of this effort with engineering manager
