  • Install and repair mechanical equipment and systems
  • Observe all safety rules and maintain an orderly workplace. Work from blueprints, machine/ piping diagrams, shop orders, instructions, and ideas.
  • Plan with supervision proposed mechanical work during planned shutdowns. Maintain inventory of mechanical supplies and equipment and requisitions same, as necessary
  • Install, dismantle, examine, repair, recondition, rebuild/overhaul and re-install mechanical systems and equipment such as motors, gear boxes, drives, chains, pulleys, hydraulic components, air systems, filtration, aids and / or performs predictive maintenance. Gather information for replacement parts.
  • Perform a testing routine on scheduled basis.
  • Examine and repair all equipment when required for continuous plant operation.
  • Make minor adjustments to and lubricate tools and equipment used.
  • Report any abnormal conditions of materials, products or equipment to supervisor
  • Perform routine maintenance work on all machinery

SUMMARY 
Our public sector client requires a results-oriented individual to provide product training to both technical and non-technical users. While working with a diverse team, the resource will develop, design, and deliver training material to stakeholders and end-users in multiple jurisdictions across Ontario. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 
– Work with the suppliers to understand and validate training services
– Work with the client's vendors to ensure that the training curriculum and materials are designed effectively to optimize knowledge acquisition and retention
– Work with the Client and internal project teams to develop the overall training strategy that will feed the detailed training plans
– Work is the client's Value Streams to guide all training activities per the schedule

  • Requires a knowledge of economics to provide cost estimates and cost trends concerning generating station construction and operation.
  • Familiarity with OPG's Engineering/Procurement/Construction contract model is an asset.
  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the successful completion of a four year university education in an appropriate engineering field or by having the equivalent level of education.
  • Requires experience in planning and development aspects of electrical power plants to become familiar with generating station design and associated components.
  • Requires experience in a generalized but related industry to appreciate manufacturing and supply techniques. Requires experience to solve problems, provide guidance and initiate studies, designs and economic forecasts.
  • Requires experience to understand the interrelationship(s) of various internal and external groups in order to facilitate objectives.

Production Supervisor

 

Our Toronto plastics manufacturing facility is seeking a production supervisor to join their team. This position has 12 hour shifts rotating every two weeks between day and night shift. The company employs about 120 individuals and offers a comprehensive benefit package.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day general administration of the operations. (includes personnel, production rates, job changes, reliability)
  • Input to plant manager on supply and production optimization, control and use of raw material and inventory management
  • Recommendations to plant manager, work methods and procedures for section: technical assistance to lead hand in correct application of methods/procedures and efficient use of equipment
  • Responsible for the safe, continuous and efficient operation of production unit.
  • On-going coordination as necessary with other sectors in the department
  • Daily coordination, prioritization and monitoring of maintenance repairs, and authorization of work orders.
  • Plan all shutdowns on equipment with Maintenance.
